A young, confident and skilled hunter and outdoorsman, his potential has been recognized by the mysterious "Orion Order," an ultra-exclusive hunting club with international connections. Even though Jack is still green, the powers that be at Orion are willing to give him a shot at joining, but first he must prove himself worthy. Jack jumps at this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity. His test is made up of a series of membership trials against big game and small, in various environments and conditions and utilizing a variety of weapons, skills and techniques. Top Shot Wii Peripheral Included Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 Wii Bundle brings even more fun to the hunt with its inclusion of the Top Shot Wii peripheral. Made out of rugged but light bright orange plastic, the Top Shot accessory will never be mistaken for a real gun away from the game. But combined with your Wii Remote/Nunchuck controller configuration it allows for easy, rapid-fire and realistic action. And with a sawed off design it can be fired either from the shoulder or extended out like a pistol. Gameplay Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 is played from a first-person perspective featuring a combination of mission play and mini-games that make up the already mentioned hunting trials. Players are guided through structured mission play by their in-game sponsor who contacts them, points them in the right direction and offers tips and warnings in the field as the hunt makes its way across the globe. In each hunt players are graded on a variety of skills ranging from safe navigation across dangerous wilderness terrain, animal tracking, and their abilities at stalking from cover and making clean, efficient kills. Players track game and find their way around the environment using "Hunter's Sense," a type of bullet time in which evidence of animals, varied available cover options to shoot from, specific animal locations and their level of alertness can be seen in a temporarily, slowed down view with on-screen color-coated indicators revealing each. More rapid player movement, including sprint functionality, is available in regular view. Once an animal is sighted in the players weapon scope varying possible point totals are visible on the animal according to where it might be hit with a projectile. These include strikes to the heart, spine, lung and head. During hunts players can quickly and easily change weapons at the push of a button as the trophy animal persuaded requires. In-game weapons range from a variety of rifles, pistols, bows and more which can be unlocked as the game progresses. The ability to correctly use all graded skills gains the player points and medals for each animal players are tasked to bag. In addition to the mission play of big game membership trials, Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 also features arcade style, timed mini-game hunts. These are spread throughout the game and feature a mix of birds and small game. Success in these serves the dual purpose of providing the opportunity of challenging marksmanship practice, without penalization in the main campaign and the chance to build experience points in your overall progression. Four-person Multiplayer Mini-games In addition to the campaign mini-game action described above, Cabela's Big Game Hunter 2010 for Wii comes packed with 13 arcade style shooting galleries. Great fun for grandkids August 31, 2010 Sage Hunter (PacNW) Good way to introduce kids to hunting. Maybe a little to much arcade like for older folks.
hunting? really? that involves tracking August 30, 2010 I. D. Arellano The demo was very fun. but Once you get the game and realize every mission plays the same it gets old. The animals are dumb. I can walk up so close to the in that stalk mode with them looking right at me and they dont get spooked. This whole game is just target practice on the 360. Same setup. Walk up sneak to 3-4 cover spots for points(which gets old) Find the trophy in the small heard and take it down. Repeat till the boss battle with bears and mountain cats where you survive insane attacks and shoot till dead. Very boring. Coolest feature is the zoom in on the organs but thats it. Dont get me wrong. It'll do as a game but not a very fun one. Get the Hunt instead
DONT BUY THIS GAME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! August 28, 2010 Peaches (MI) This is by far the worst game that I have ever played! There is no way to play with more than one player, no way to play with more than one profile (in other words, my son usually plays his wii under his name and I play under my own where we maintain our current separate levels - NOT WITH THIS GAME!!! - there's just one PROFILE), and the camera "sensitivity" is far TOO sensitive. My son says that he would rather play with garbage than play this game again!!! :) And he LOVES games!!!
The Good:
There was a "progressive" storyline and there were fights with several animals (that were really effortless), there are ways that you can get higher scores by following the directions, and the bullet camera is a plus, but the game is overall NOT AT ALL WHAT I NOR MY 10 YEAR OLD SON EXPECTED!!! You can't play with more than one person!!! If my son wants to play, I must sit and watch him and then I can play. That's the way game night goes when playing this game. My son and I played it for less than 15 minutes and have barely played since. The gun is a fiasco as well. It adds NO FUN to the game at all - just makes it more difficult. I WISH someone had told me how HORRIBLE this game was before I bought it!!!!
Ok for small teens, otherwise a rip off August 24, 2010 Chuck Horn Game says it is MULTIPLAYER...it is NOT only one person can play at a time, graphics are really lame and not as life like as video games in the arcades....save your money.
gteat gift August 16, 2010 Hairy Bear (Antioch IL, USA) Just received a thank you note from the recipient. She loves the game and is very good at it.
