1 out of 5 stars Fun While They Last, But Look For Alternatives   September 15, 2009

This was my fourth cymbal for this particular kit to replace one that had previously been faulty. This one was a coaster within a month. The overall problem with these cymbals is that they are cheaply manufactured using the bare minimum materials to try and hold them together. Extensive playing causes the molded pegs within the sensor casing to eventually break which causes the casing to rattle enough to create double-taps which ruin streaks and ruins gameplay.

If you already have these, I recommend going to the hardware store and buying a handful of 1/2" #6 sheet metal panhead screws and driving them through the cheap molded pegs of the casing and directly into the plastic of the cymbal head itself. This forces the casing to stay rigid with the cymbal and has fixed my double-tap problem so far. If you're having problems with these cymbals and are looking for a replacement, this isn't your solution, it's just delaying having another broken cymbal.

4 out of 5 stars Better than the original cymbals that came with my Drum Rocker   September 14, 2009

Not much to say, it works like expected if you set them up right.

I'm not sure if most people realize this or not but the cymbals have a channel that they sit in and if you look under the cymbal you will see that they are designed to go up and down in only one direction (unlike true cymbals which can bounce any direction). I was having a lot of problems with double hits or hits that didn't register but after I lined up the cymbal so that when I hit it, they rock straight up and down and not sideways the problems mostly went away. I also found that I have to have them tightened up properly as well, which is a slight pain because they constantly loosen up due to all the hits.

I have also noticed that this new one is less noisy than the originals that came with my set..

5 out of 5 stars If you have an ION, you need this. PERIOD.   June 6, 2009

When I first got the ION, originally I didn't use the cymbals. I hooked them up because I was considering moving onward to a real drum kit and whether you agree with it or not, Rock Band is actually a great way to start. The only problem is, there's a lot of blue cymbal use that you double on the tom. I did this for less than a week before I decided to throw down on the extra cymbal and I have not had a single regret. The only real disadvantage is having to take the frame apart to get the hardware on. If you have an ION, you absolutely need this. Not only does it make the drums that much more realistic, but it also adds tons to the fun factor and replay value of Rock Band drums.

5 out of 5 stars expansion goodness   May 17, 2009
A. Aguilera (new orleans)
i bought the ions and have enjoyed them immensely after having destroyed three different rockband drumb sets.

i felt the need to buy the 3rd cymbal after having grown accustomed to the two it came with and realizing that it felt natural to have another cymbal. even if it is confusing the hell out of me untill i get used to where it is.
