I don't have kids, so it's hard for me to know what to buy friends and relatives that have babies....When I discovered this bear, I didn't know whether I would be the hit of the baby shower or snickered at for being that "motherless" friend who doesn't know anything about babies.....I was the hit of the shower!! The mothers of the group loved it and when the baby came, it was the only thing to soothe her to sleep...It's now my "baby shower" gift - tan for boys, pink for girls (I actually prefer the tan). I can't wait to have a baby and this will be my first purchase!

This bear is so much better than I thought it would be! It's so soft and very pretty. I thought it would be bigger and bulkier, but it's small enough to put in my daughter's first pictures from the hospital when she is born! The sounds and lullabies it plays are beautiful, and the sound quality is great. Only down side is that the mother's heartbeat kinda sounds like a muffled motor rather than just a clear pulse, which is why I gave it 4 stars instead of 5. But you can take the sound box (with the two velcro loops) out when your baby gets older so they can play and cuddle with it. I would definitely recommend buying this bear!
